Patrick's earliest musical leanings developed into areas more demanding than the current "pop" music of the day. He became interested in authentic American blues and listened in admiration to records by such black and British performers as Muddy Waters, Freddy King, Louis Myers, Howling Wolf, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, and more crucially Robert Johnson, the legendary bluesman from Mississippi who was said to have sold his soul to the devil in exchange for a musical virtuosity that inspired awe-struck envy in his peers.
Deep Feeling Blues Band 2023
A l'occasion du concert à Noyers/Cher (41) le 16 septembre 2023, Patrick Baricault décide de remettre en place le concept "Deep Feeling Blues Band", créé pour la 1ère fois fin 1976.
Pour ce 1er concert dans cette formule, on retrouve à la basse Greeny (qui avait déjà fait partie du "Deep Feeling Blues Band" des années 1983 /84), à la batterie Bernard Tessier (avec lequel Patrick joue actuellement dans "Shadowsmania") et à la 2nde guitare Aain Chassier (que Patrick a rencontré en 2010 lors de la tournée avec "Winks", et que l'on retrouve également actuellement avec lui dans le duo "Blues Guitars Unplugged").

What made Patrick so unique was that rather than simply replicate the exotic sounds he had heard on blues discs, he incorporated the emotion of the original performances into his own playing, expanding the vocabulary of blues guitar throught his famous solos.
